Enhanced Access to Clinical Trials
With the support of SiteRx™, Bowie Internal Medicine is now offering patients access to a variety of clinical trials. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the clinical trials available, please contact us.
What is a Clinical Trial?
Clinical trials are research trials. They evaluate the benefits and possible side effects of new medications. These medications are used to treat diseases or conditions. Most medications that are prescribed by doctors have been tested in clinical trials.
Benefits of Being in a Clinical Trial
Why should you consider participating in a clinical trial? Great questions. Some people are concerned over taking a medication that hasn’t been fully tested. However, there are many benefits to clinical trials. First, clinical trials offer the opportunity for you to receive a new treatment before it is available to the public, at no cost to you.
Additionally, participating in a clinical trail may help advance medicine or treatment options for a particular condition or disease.
During the clinical trial you receive medical oversight and testing in addition to the care you receive from your primary doctor. Furthermore, some clinical trials include special diagnostic that are not typically available to the public or aren’t covered by insurance. So, you could potentially receive access to these advanced diagnostics, at no additional cost.

They will contact you and provide information on the trial and what it entails. Then they will give you time to decide if you are interested. If you are, they will help you begin the next steps of enrollment and help ensure that you have a good experience.
